“I have been familiar with WYBREX since 2013. Although Wyoming is a fairly new state, having entered the Union in 1890, and thus our history is fairly recent, it is unfortunate that much of our more intriguing history has been lost. There are numerous reasons for this- Wyoming is a sparsely populated state, communities such as mining and railroad camps tend to be highly transient (e.g. the community of Jeffrey City was a boomtown in the 1970s, which was growing so fast it even had a new High School constructed by the state but is today a Ghost Town), and because of high winds and harsh weather the landscape changes frequently and significantly.  Additionally, many of the earliest historic events typically involved only a handful of participants, and many of these men and women were illiterate, resulting in a sparse written record. WYBREX has performed a significant service to the history of the Cowboy State, by locating a large number of extremely significant events- particularly including the famous “Wilcox” train robbery by Butch Cassidy’s gang.  WYBREX uses various archaeological and archival research techniques which have proven to be highly effective. The National Museum of Military Vehicles and the Fort Caspar Museum in Casper have both utilized the WYBREX study on the Jumbo Springs Ambush in their interpretation and programs. I can heartily recommend and endorse the professional work of WYBREX.”

“I want to extend our thanks to you for “dousing” for graves for us, both at the Tracy Cemetery near Shoshoni and at the Cemetery in Lost Cabin, Wyoming. We were both shocked and amazed at the results of the dousing you did when you identified some 40 (forty) unknown/unmarked grave locations.”
